our first project

we're finally planning our first "project". themr has a family he is in contact that is in desperate need of a vehicle. lots of people living in a house (including several children) and they do not have a car. we found out about a friend who has an old truck that he wants to give away. we'll drive to a city about four hours away and pick up the truck and bring it back. we'll fix it up and pay for the license and tags and be able to give it to this family. this is really cool for us because we've been given two vehicles when in need. seriously, it's happened to us twice! for us to be able to do this for another is really cool. i'll post more when i can. just had to share. the project begins!

out of the box

we have been "tithers" for years. we believe that a tithe is to be ten percent of your gross income. we love our church and believe in the things they do. but sometimes, it's hard when you can't tangibly see where your money going. what if we took that money and used it to help people? what if we could see the ways our small contribution to the kingdom of God helped? we decided that for one year, we will tithe to our community. this blog will be our online journal of where every penny of it goes. will this completely change our idea of giving? we'll see...
